Granite Sinks

If you're looking for a coloured sink then granite is the way to go.

The original coloured sinks were made of plastics/acrylic. These were not ideal materials, they required a great deal of care and had a limited life. They did however give people a choice of colours and offer an alternative to stainless steel.

For years the sink manufacturers were looking for a better material and now they've found it. Franke Granite sinks really are made from granite, which has been ground into small pieces. The granite is mixed with a resin and moulded into the shape of a sink. As the resin cools, it contracts slightly leaving only granite on the surface.

Being made from granite it is very difficult to scratch (granite is one of the hardest materials known to man). It can also withstand a temperature up to 230 degrees centigrade. Franke Granite will not stain and so is the ideal coloured sink that will last many years. The surface of the sink has a textureed finish due to the small pieces of granite on the surface.
